Partial or complete adentia, that is, the absence of elements of the dentition, causes a lot of inconvenience - especially in cases where “gaps” form in an area visible to others. In dentistry, various methods of orthopedic restoration are used, but most experts recommend solving the problem with implantation. Installation of artificial rods that replicate the natural structure of the root part eliminates the development of atrophic processes and guarantees the reliability of the structure under any load. Among the popular brands of manufacturers offering similar products, ICX implants developed by the German company Medentis Medical deserve special attention.
Advantages and nuances of the most popular German dental implants
German implants are a mark of quality among all implantation systems.
They appeared on the dental market around the 1980s. Currently, Germany is among the TOP 3 countries leading in terms of the production of high-quality implantation systems. We have identified 5 main competitive advantages of German dental implants:
- Optimal price-quality ratio. According to their characteristics, which experts evaluate during operation, implants made in Germany are close to premium category analogues, while costing at least 30% less;
- Versatility. German brands produce a wide range of dental implants for restoring teeth, even in the most complex clinical cases;
- Wide variability in prosthetics. If a dentist deals with implants from Germany, the result of implantation will exceed all expectations;
- Dental systems have ideal design features: root-shaped, sharpened threads, there are options with larger threads, which is important for patients with loose bone tissue;
- The survival rate is about 99%. German dental implants demonstrate truly impressive statistics of successful adaptation in the oral cavity.
It is important! German dental implants are close to the so-called “top” systems. If we compare them with their Israeli counterparts, the latter are more budget options, but they have less guarantee of survival. Although in both groups there are both worthy options and systems with certain nuances. The choice should be made solely on the basis of consultation with a dentist.

The estimated cost of ICX implants from Germany is 34,500 rubles per unit. The manufacturer provides a lifetime warranty for ICX implants.
Implants Medentis Medical GmbH
The dental implant manufacturer company, along with the production of dental implants, is developing more advanced models.
We already know about several truly innovative features of their implants, which include:
- Surface SLA, hydrophilic. This surface has micropores that prevent the proliferation of germs and other microorganisms, which reduces the risk of them getting into the gums;
- No-Touch. As the name suggests, the No-Touch system eliminates any contact between the implant and hands or dental instruments during installation. Thus, the risk of infection is practically zero;
- Large selection of implant sizes and diameters. The company's products include a wide range of dental implants, so choosing the required size and diameter is not difficult;
- Conical interface. This innovative solution helps securely secure the implant in the jaw, preventing it from moving.
Manufacturers also make implants from a special titanium alloy, which practically does not cause an allergic reaction and is suitable for installation in all patients.
German dental implants from the Impro brand (IMPRO)
German implant systems from the IMPRO brand - dental systems produced (Germany). This corporation also specializes in the production of materials and equipment for the defense industry. German Impro implants are quite versatile. In the line of proposed implants, you can easily select systems for restoring chewing teeth, as well as incisors.

Dental implants Xive Friadent (Germany – USA)
Xive implants have recently been considered American, since the exclusive right to the brand was purchased by the Dentplay concern from the USA. But we will still highlight this group of implants, since in most protocols they are indicated as German.
The Xive Friadent brand was born in Germany in the early 1990s. The brand has gained popularity all over the world thanks to the unique connection between the implant and the abutment. Closer to 2000, Xive Friadent produced S implants, designed for simultaneous loading with a prosthesis as part of express implantation. In 2010, a system of screw fixation on an implant at any selected angle appeared in Germany, which also provoked a real breakthrough in dentistry.
5 important features of German implants Xive Friadent (Germany):
- Unique design. Thanks to the thoughtful shape of the implant and thread, reliable stability in the bone is ensured;
- Solving problems even in the most advanced cases. Xive Friadent implants take root in patients with loose bone tissue or its acute deficiency. They are allowed to be given to people with osteoporosis and diabetes;
- Proven quality. Xive Friadent implants are in demand in Germany, Russia and all over the world. The material used is pure titanium alloy.
- There are no gaps between the implant and abutment.
- There are virtually no risks of rejection, but the manufacturer provides a 10-year warranty on most implants.
Impro implants
After Ankylos and XiVE, implants produced by Impro are the most in demand, especially on the Russian market. They started producing them not so long ago.
It should be noted that the company is part of the holding company for the production of aerospace products Helmut Knigel. Thanks to his support and guidance, strong, reliable dental implant systems have been developed.
For example, they can withstand a load of more than 100 kg. In addition, the company’s products have several technological highlights that allow it to withstand competition in the production of implants even with top brands:
- The surface of the implants is made using SuperH technology, which involves multi-stage cleaning before application.
- The Impro company has developed more than 50 models of titanium rods of various sizes, design features and shapes. There are, for example, systems with double or micro threads, mini-implants, designs for transgingival implantation
- The orthopedic platform is single and suitable for various abutments, which significantly expands the variability of application of the system for any prosthesis
Experts consider the disadvantage of the described implants to be a rather long engraftment period - about 3 months.
German implants Semados (Semados)
Implantation systems of the Semados brand are produced by almost the same name (Germany). These implants have a number of differences from analogues of other brands:
- made of class IV titanium, that is, a material of increased quality with an improved degree of purification. For comparison, many Swiss luxury implants are made of exactly this material;
- Implants have an increased area of contact with bone tissue, due to which it is firmly held in the bone;
- manufacturer Semados produces a range of implants for any clinical case;
- The German brand provides a 20-year guarantee on implants;
- in some series of implants, the cervical area of the implant is polished, which significantly reduces the level of injury during implantation;
- Semados implants can be safely placed in the smile area, as they are firmly embedded in the bone and will not be visible through the gums. It is possible to select the optimal implant for patients with anatomically thin gums.
3 popular lines of Semados implants:
- Mini are small implants that are used for dental implantation in patients with narrow jaws. Relevant for implantation in clients with complete absence of teeth - then several of these mini implants are screwed into the jaw, on which a prosthetic system is placed on top;
- Universal S – classic German implants, which are used by dentists to implement the classic two-stage implantation procedure;
- RI Semados are implants made in Germany, which are suitable for implantation in patients with obvious bone tissue atrophy, in the most complex clinical cases. Such implants are made in the shape of cones and also have large threads, which allows them to stand stably in the jaw. These German implants are relevant for express implantation.
The estimated cost of the Semados implant is 34,500 rubles per piece. Additionally, prosthetic construction and bone grafting (if the patient needs it) are paid for.
Which implant is better to choose?
- Article reading time:
2 minutes
Of course, one of the main questions for modern patients in dental clinics is “Which implant is better to choose?” And indeed this topic is very relevant, because there are a huge number of implants and they all differ, both in price and in individual properties. Each has its own characteristics of osseointegration, and a low-quality product can cause allergies, rapid loosening, and even rejection of the system. We also asked ourselves this question and decided to talk with Kamil Nailievich Khabiev, candidate of medical sciences, president of the group. — Good afternoon, Kamil Nailievich.
Let's start right away with the main question: How to choose the right implant? Which implants are of better quality, what is their difference, and which ones do you use in your practice?
— In order to be able to place an implant in 100% of clinical situations, it is correct to have three systems in the dental clinic.
AnyOne – economy segment, Impro – middle segment, AnyRidge – premium segment. But at the same time, I emphasize that the gradation of segments does not occur because the quality of the implants is worse or better. But because, for example, in the economy segment, AnyOne can be installed in a simple clinical case. If the implant is installed in 5-10 minutes, then naturally it will cost less. In the case of Impro, implantation is carried out either immediately after tooth extraction, or simultaneously with a sinus lift, which is much more complicated. Therefore, installing an implant implies not only its cost, but also the cost of work of increased complexity, which requires certain skills from the doctor. After all, it’s one thing to simply pull out a tooth, and another thing to remove it so that an implant can then be placed there. Just like AnyRidge, which has the highest price and belongs to the premium segment. As a rule, this cost includes some additional manipulations. This is the splitting of the ridge, this is the opportunity not to do a sinus lift and do without bone grafting, this is the opportunity to immediately fix a crown on the implant - all this forms the final price. In general, the Impro and AnyRidge systems allow you to perform more complex complex work. For example, when all teeth are removed, 4, 6 or 10 implants are placed - with them the result will be more predictable and safe. Naturally, this procedure must be performed by a highly qualified doctor and therefore the cost of implantation will be higher. And even a novice, young doctor can handle AnyOne implantation, which is why it costs much less. I want everyone to understand that pricing is not based on the principle of better or worse, but based on the complexity of the clinical case. — Then explain how the implant is priced?
— The cost of implants directly depends on their quality properties.
For example, the AnyRidge implant belongs to the premium segment due to the fact that it can significantly improve the results and long-term prognosis of treatment. It allows you to avoid complex difficult bone grafting and significantly speed up the time of prosthetics and implant healing. For its manufacture, advanced technologies, high-quality materials, highly purified hardened titanium, which is many times stronger than usual, and a special X-peed surface with a nano-layer of calcium ions are used. Therefore, this implant belongs to the premium segment, so its price is higher than other implants. Again, it should be understood that this is not just the price of the implant, but the price of the entire implantation procedure. That is, if an AnyRidge implant costs, for example, fifty thousand rubles, ridge splitting is included or tooth extraction may be included - everything is included in the price. Thanks to the AnyRidge implant, we do not perform a sinus lift, and this, despite its higher price, allows us to save money. Calculate the cost of a sinus lift, medications, and the operation itself is traumatic, the patient will have to take several sick days. With AnyRidge, the procedure is simpler, which saves time, money, and, most importantly, health. — By the way, how long have you been working with them? Has anything changed in the implant during its existence?
— In Russia, we were the first to work with AnyRidge implants and are successfully working to this day.
They appeared in 2008 and entered our market a couple of years later. At the time we started working with them, they did not yet have a surface with calcium ions. She appeared a little later. In general, small design improvements are constantly being made, but they do not fundamentally and radically change anything. Therefore, the most significant improvement is the introduction of the X-peed surface. - What is its action? Will the engraftment of the implant be faster and better?
- Yes that's right.
First, this coating increases the surface area of the implant. And the larger the surface area, the more bone cells can come into contact with the implant, the better the prognosis and the better the stability of the implant. Secondly, calcium ions attract phosphates that are located in the bone and hydroxyapatites are formed on the surface of the implant. Hydroxyapatite is what bone tissue is made of. It turns out that a hybrid layer is created between the implant and the bone, which causes osseointegration. Therefore, AnyRidge can be installed with a permanent crown in some cases. They behave so predictably. — If AnyRidge is such an innovative and high-quality implant, then how popular is this brand in Russia and what percentage of the implant market does it account for?
— Every year their popularity is becoming higher and more and more domestic specialists are using AnyRidge.
Now they occupy about ten percent of the Russian market. This is a very good indicator, because they appeared only seven years ago and during this time they have grown from a completely unknown implant to such an information state that everyone knows about it. Yes, not everyone works with it yet, but there is not a single doctor who has not heard of AnyRidge. For example, there are other systems from a similar price segment that have been on the market for more than twenty years, and AnyRidge comes close to them in terms of recognition. — By the way, touching on the topic of this price segment. Are there any analogues of AnyRidge with similar properties?
— There are more expensive implants in the price category, but AnyRidge has no analogues in terms of its properties.
In fact, on the contrary, they have the most attractive price in the premium segment. There are implants that are much more expensive, but they do not have the benefits that AnyRidge boasts. We have about eighteen indications for the specific use of AnyRidge, which can be found on our website. So, no other system has absolutely the same properties that would fit these cases. Some have five, some have six, and AnyRidge has all eighteen. — What can you say about the Impro implantation system?
— The Impro implantation system is produced in the jewelry and industrial capital of Germany in the city of Pforzheim.
It is also called “German Switzerland”. There are watch and jewelry factories, high-precision and high-tech industries, including many implant manufacturers. Among them is the Klingel Medical Metal plant, which makes Impro. Among other things, Klingel Medical Metal produces metal spare parts for medical equipment from Siemens, Bosch and Carl Zeiss (author's note, a German company specializing in the field of optics). It is a recognized leader in the field of high-precision manufacturing, so the quality of these implants is undeniable and beyond any doubt. — And what are the features of the Impro system?
— This is a universal system that can be used in any dental case: it can be placed anywhere and any way.
It has been developed based on the latest scientific research. There is a cone connection, platform switching, and a special microthread. The shape is created in such a way that the implant can be installed in both soft and hard bone with equal efficiency. It is ideal for simultaneous implantation with sinus lift. Thanks to the microthread on the neck, this implant can be fixed even within one or two millimeters of bone. Thus, combine bone grafting and implantation. — You’ve already talked about the unique AnyRidge surface, but what kind of surface does Impro have?
— The Impro surface is ultra-clean due to the elimination of sandblasting.
When micro-roughness is made on an implant with sand, various particles may remain, and no one can guarantee that they are truly clean. Impro doesn't have that. There is only double three-dimensional etching. That is, first the implant is immersed in acid, then placed in a dispersed medium, where small drops of acid burn micro-roughness on its surface. And since acid is much easier to wash off, unlike sand, which can mechanically get caught, its surface is ultra-clean. This is confirmed by the research of Durk Duddek (approx. dentist and founder of the Dental Implant Cleanliness Foundation, a non-profit organization that checks the quality and cleanliness of the surface of implants). These studies are published on the manufacturer's website, and they indicate that the Impro surface is very clean, without impurities and residues of various metals - only pure titanium. — How long has Impro been present on the Russian market and how does it position itself?
— Impro has been on the Russian market for almost ten years. Despite the fact that this is a premium quality implant, it is nevertheless located in the middle price category. All this is thanks to mass production: a large plant means large volumes, so it is possible to reduce costs and not inflate the price tag. If we talk about German implants, then Impro is the most affordable of all with such high quality.
— Let's now talk about the third implant of the economy segment.
— This is the South Korean system AnyOne, the same manufacturer as AnyRidge - MegaGen.
It is characterized by the fact that, like AnyRidge, it is made of highly purified hardened titanium, which is much stronger than usual, has a surface coated with calcium ions, but has a simpler design and is intended for lighter cases. It is for this reason that it is in the economy segment. When conditions are good, when there is no need for bone grafting, it is placed and, thanks to its properties, it takes root well. It does not have complex threads, there are no complex parts, and therefore its cost is much lower than other implants. This does not mean that it is worse - it is simply intended for simpler and easier cases. — You just talked about three fairly new implant systems AnyOne, Impro and AnyRidge, and how do they differ from other systems that have existed on the dental market for a long time, for example, from the Nobel or AlfaBio systems?
— Implantation systems that appeared quite a long time ago, 20-30 years ago, do not take into account the data that has become known recently.
For example, many older systems do not have a cone connection. This is when the upper part of the structure enters the implant with a cone, due to this there are no micromovements, there is sealing and, accordingly, it is much more reliable. In older systems there is no such connection, which means the upper part on which the crown rests can become loose and, as a result, the crown can break and fall out. Therefore, despite the fact that the system may be quite well-known and has been on the market for a long time, it is already obsolete. “Then why do doctors still continue to use these brands?”
- It's simple. If a patient comes and wants to place this particular implant, the doctor does not want to strain himself, works with what he is used to, and follows the path of least resistance. Of course, this is not always correct and we are now working to ensure that doctors place implants according to indications and suitable for the clinical situation. Any doctor should ask himself the question: Would he place this implant for himself or his relatives? If the answer is negative, and he gives it to the patient, then this is already unethical. And if you understand that you will place it, then it means that you are working with an ideal implant. It happens, of course, that the doctor does not know something, but it is our task to work with him and help him make the right choice. The main thing is to choose implants according to your indications.
— What does it mean to choose an implant according to indications?
What is this? Why can't the same implant work equally well in different situations?
“For example, the upper jaw has shock-absorbing properties, so the bone there is softer. It can be compared to chipboard or even foam plastic when we talk about older patients. If there is no tooth for a long time, there is no load, the bone begins to dissolve and become soft. And the lower jaw must withstand the load, so the bone on it is denser. It can be compared to oak, birch or plywood. Accordingly, in chipboard we use self-tapping screws, such as AnyRidge, with protruding threads. And it will get stuck in the plywood. It will get stuck and just break. Not even he, but the screwdriver with which he is screwed. Therefore, AnyOne or Impro, which have finer threads, are used on the lower jaw. There are different drills, a different protocol, a different technique for installing the implant. But in the upper jaw, it’s the other way around: we make a small hole and place a large implant, because there is soft bone there. Therefore, it is necessary for both doctors and patients to understand that clinical cases are different and a specific implant is used in each individual case.
— Okay, let’s imagine that we have chosen the right implant for our clinical case. But this is only half the battle, he still needs to get used to it. In this regard, I would like to know what is the survival rate of implants today?
— According to various studies, world statistics now show from 96% to 100% survival rate of all modern implants, but the arithmetic average is generally considered to be 98.5%. If we apply a new concept, when we use an implant according to indications, then this percentage can be increased to one hundred. So with AnyRidge and Impro we achieved almost 100% on this concept. For example, in our Dental Guru clinic this percentage is currently 95.5%. We can talk about this with confidence as we have been monitoring patients for more than 10 years. And this despite the fact that we take on the most complex clinical cases and do large complex work. Patients come to us from all over Russia and the CIS countries who were refused treatment in other clinics. So thanks to this concept, we have achieved such survival results. But it is necessary to understand that it is not enough for the implant to take root - it must function throughout life. And here the statistics are already depressing. In the world, up to 60% of peri-implantitis is recorded - this is the resorption of the bone around the implant. They occur after 5-20 years depending on the situation because patients do not take care of them. It is necessary to come once every six months for an examination, to carry out cleaning, doctors should immediately take action as soon as they see the slightest signs of inflammation. But almost all 60% of peri-implantitis that spoil the statistics are outdated versions of planar connection implants. Yes, they take root, but at some point problems arise with them. Perhaps, thanks to implants such as AnyRidge, Impro and AnyOne with a conical connection, the negative statistics will decline. However, the main responsibility lies with the patient, who must take care of them and follow all the doctor's instructions.
Expert opinion: is it worth installing German implants?
If you want to restore a tooth at an affordable price, implants from manufacturers from Germany are the best option. Dentists from leading Moscow clinics, including dental implantologists, work with such implant systems. Reviews about German implants speak for themselves - people have their smile restored in the absence of teeth, a clear deficiency of hard bone tissue in the jaw, and poor survival rate of the most expensive implants. German implants that have proven their superiority take root really well in the shortest possible time.
Is it profitable to install German implants? Of course yes! Even if there are no teeth, professional implantation using German systems will cost less than a cup of coffee every day. Just do these simple calculations and see for yourself.
A specialist from the Zuub clinic will help you choose a specific implantation system. There are solutions for any clinical case. Trust the professionals who will help you go from missing a tooth to a beautiful, healthy and full smile!
“All-on-six” implantation protocol
One of the methods of prosthetics recommended for complete edentia is the installation of a conditionally removable structure on six implants, provided for by the “All-on-6” protocol. The special layout of the artificial pins that serve as the base guarantees a strong fixation of the replacement system. The connection to the rods is carried out using screw elements.
To implement the “All-on-six” technique using ICX implants, the following algorithm is provided:
- The preparatory stage includes taking tests, undergoing a CT scan and creating a digital model that allows you to analyze the condition of the jaw and draw up a treatment plan taking into account the features of the anatomical structure. After elaboration, a template is created based on the cast, on which the position of each future rod is marked;
- Installation of pins involves screwing six ICX support implants into the bone tissue, on which a temporary structure is placed, providing sufficient load for the adaptation phase. If necessary, bone tissue augmentation is allowed, the need for which arises with prolonged edentia;
- Adaptation - the duration of primary healing varies from one to one and a half weeks, and requires periodic medical monitoring. The very next day after integration, moderately hard food is allowed. General recovery lasts up to six months;
- Final prosthetics - after confirming the integration of the implants, the temporary structure is replaced with a permanent one, with elements made of metal ceramics or zirconium dioxide.
The ICX design allows the use of a ceramic abutment, which eliminates dark metal showing through the prosthetic crown and improves the aesthetics of the smile. The duration of operation of prostheses is at least ten years, which are covered by a warranty from the manufacturer. To increase service life, it is recommended to maintain oral hygiene, visit the dentist every six months for preventive maintenance, and also monitor the load on the jaw area.
Israel and Germany – whose implants are better?
Patients often ask this question on dental forums, although it is not entirely correct. Both systems for implantation are in great demand.
Israeli implants are more economy class in price and characteristics. Products from German manufacturers are more expensive and closer to premium.
If the doctor who performs the implantation is sure that economy class implants are suitable for this clinical case and the treatment results will be positive, then they should be placed. Especially if the aesthetics of the design are not so important. But you should not think that they are of poor quality. It’s just that German implants give the doctor more options and provide ease of use during prosthetics. In addition, premium titanium rods are much more suitable for difficult clinical cases, when it is especially important to completely restore normal functionality and at the same time ensure good aesthetics of the dentition.
Semados implants
The Semados company uses titanium of high purity grade 4 for the manufacture of implants
Systems produced by Bego Semados, like the previous brand, these implants are almost unknown to Russian clinicians. But those who have tried them in practice rate them quite highly. The material from which they are made is especially good. This is titanium of high purity grade 4 (4KV), which is also used for the production of branded luxury systems.
The company produces four lines of products for dental implantation:
- Semados Mini. Systems for implantation with mini-implants in limited space, as a support for a removable denture
- Semados Universal. Already by the name it is clear that these implants are suitable for all methods - classical and one-stage implantation, and are the most popular due to their versatility
- Semados RI. Developed and manufactured for complex clinical cases. Provides good primary stability even with insufficient bone volume
